BLUE SICKS IS BUILT FROM LINEAGE.

IT BEGINS WITH ROSEMARY SICKS ULLOM — PAPER DOLLS TO FASHION ILLUSTRATION TO THIRTY-FIVE YEARS SHAPING INTERIORS THROUGH HER FIRM, ROSEMARY ULLOM DESIGN ASSOCIATES. RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL WORK, KNOWN IN THE INDUSTRY, NEVER PUBLICIZED. A WOMAN WHO COULD SKETCH GRACE INTO EXISTENCE WITH A SINGLE LINE, AND WHO DID THE THINGS MOST WOMEN OF HER TIME WERE NEVER MEANT TO TOUCH: HANGING PAPER, REFINISHING FURNITURE, BUILDING BEAUTY BY HAND, ROOM BY ROOM, WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION.

WHAT PASSED DOWN WAS NOT A STYLE. IT WAS A WAY OF SEEING — THAT FORM HOLDS MEANING, THAT CRAFT OUTLASTS CONVENIENCE, THAT THE DETAIL MOST PEOPLE RUSH PAST IS THE ONE THAT MATTERS.
